The short version

We don't sell personal data. We use Google Analytics to understand which guides are useful. This site currently carries no affiliate links, paid placements, or third-party booking widgets — if that changes in future, this page and a dedicated affiliate disclosure will be updated first.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics (gtag.js) to collect anonymised usage data — pages visited, general location at a country/city level, device type, and how visitors found the site. This helps us understand which guides are useful and which need work. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. If you're visiting from the EU, you'll see a cookie notice that lets you decline analytics cookies before they're set; see "Cookie consent" below.

Cookie consent

Visitors whose browser indicates a European timezone are shown a cookie notice before analytics cookies are set, with the option to accept or decline. Declining means Google Analytics will not run for that visit. This is a browser-based heuristic, not precise IP-based geolocation, so it may occasionally show for non-EU visitors or miss an EU visitor travelling outside Europe.

What we don't do

• We don't run display advertising networks on this site.
• We don't require an account or collect personal information just to read the site.
• We don't currently run any affiliate, referral, or sponsored-link programme.
